+ 15 more ingredients
Instructions
In a bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients: mayonnaise, pickle relish, Dijon mustard, sugar, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and white pepper.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
Brush the cut sides of the buns with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Toast them in the oven for 4–5 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion, breaking up the meat with a spatula.
Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess grease.
Spread some of the prepared sauce on the bottom halves of the buns.
Layer the ground beef mixture on top, followed by slices of American cheese and pickle slices.
Place the top halves of the buns back on, brush with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in the oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven, lift the tops of the buns, and add the shredded lettuce. Replace the tops and serve immediately with extra sauce on the side.
