Pink Gin
A storied British naval classic — gin dashed with Angostura bitters, served neat or with a splash of water, as simple and elegant as cocktails get. — Crafted by Blinner with Love
Ingredients
- 2.5 oz Plymouth gin
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- lemon twist (garnish) garnish
Pairs With
Enjoy with traditional British fare like oysters or anchovy-laden dishes; the Angostura bitters add savory depth that complements umami-rich, briny foods.
Instructions
Swirl Angostura bitters around the inside of a chilled nick and nora glass to coat
Add gin to a mixing glass with ice
Stir for 20 seconds until well chilled
Strain into the bitters-coated glass
Garnish with a lemon twist
Tips
Originated in the British Royal Navy where Angostura bitters were used to treat seasickness Plymouth gin is the traditional choice — its softer, earthier profile is perfect here Some prefer it served warm without ice, in true Royal Navy fashion
