Old Pal
The Boulevardier's drier, spicier sibling. Rye whiskey and dry vermouth replace bourbon and sweet vermouth, creating a leaner, more assertive cocktail that lets the Campari bitterness take center stage.

Stir for 25 to 30 seconds until well-chilled
Strain into a chilled coupe glass
Express a lemon peel over the surface of the drink
Drop the twist into the glass or rest it on the rim
Tips
A bold, 100-proof rye like Rittenhouse stands up perfectly to the Campari and keeps the drink from becoming too bitter Dolin Dry is an excellent dry vermouth choice that adds herbal complexity without competing with the other ingredients This is a drink for confirmed bitter-lovers — do not try to soften it with sweet vermouth or it becomes a different cocktail entirely
