Pairs With
Pair with smoky barbecue, charred fish tacos, or duck confit to balance mezcal's earthiness with Chartreuse's spice and Aperol's bitter complexity. This drink demands bold, rustic flavors with depth.
Instructions

Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds
Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe glass
Place a lime wheel on the rim of the glass

Tips
Use a lighter, more citrusy mezcal like Del Maguey Vida rather than a heavy, smoky one — you want balance, not a campfire Yellow Chartreuse is milder and sweeter than green, which is essential to this recipe — do not substitute green Chartreuse This is a Last Word variation at its core, making it an excellent gateway into the equal-parts cocktail family
