Instructions
Place mint leaves and simple syrup in the bottom of a julep cup or highball glass
Gently muddle the mint to release oils without shredding the leaves
Pack the glass tightly with crushed ice
Pour bourbon over the ice
Stir briefly and pack with more crushed ice to form a dome
Garnish with a generous bouquet of fresh mint and a light dusting of powdered sugar
