Cosmopolitan
The iconic pink cocktail that defined 1990s cocktail culture. Citrus vodka, cranberry, and triple sec shake up into a tart, elegant drink that remains a modern classic.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Citrus vodka
- 1 oz Triple sec
- 0.8 oz Cranberry juice cocktail
- 0.5 oz Fresh lime juice
- orange peel twist (garnish) garnish
Pairs With
Pair with smoked salmon canapés, seared scallops, or Asian-inspired appetizers like spring rolls—the cranberry's tartness and vodka's clean bite complement elegant, delicate seafood and sophisticated finger foods.
Instructions
Combine citrus vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice in a cocktail shaker
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds
Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled martini glass
Express an orange peel twist over the surface of the drink
Drop the twist into the glass or rest it on the rim
Tips
The cranberry juice should be just enough to tint the drink a pale, translucent pink — too much makes it cloyingly sweet Absolut Citron is the traditional choice, but any quality citrus vodka works well Chilling the glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes keeps the drink cold since there is no ice in the serving glass
