A long, refreshing Irish highball — whiskey, elderflower liqueur, cucumber, and lime topped with tonic water, inspired by the coastal Dublin suburb of Clontarf. — Crafted by Blinner with Love
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Irish whiskey
- 0.5 oz Elderflower liqueur
- 3 slices Cucumber
- 0.5 oz Fresh lime juice
- 3 oz Tonic water
- cucumber ribbon (garnish) garnish
Pairs With
Pair with fresh oysters or a light cucumber and dill-crusted salmon; the elderflower and cucumber notes echo seafood preparations while the tonic adds crisp refreshment.
Instructions
Gently muddle cucumber slices in the bottom of a highball glass
Fill the glass with ice
Add Irish whiskey, elderflower liqueur, and lime juice
Top with tonic water and gently stir once
Garnish with a long cucumber ribbon draped along the inside of the glass
