Aperol Sunset
A gorgeous layered cocktail that captures the colors of a golden hour sky. Fresh orange juice and Aperol mingle with a touch of sparkling wine, creating a tall, fruity, and photogenic drink built for warm evenings.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Aperol
- 2 oz Fresh orange juice
- 3 oz Prosecco
- 0.5 oz Fresh lemon juice
- orange wheel (garnish) garnish
- maraschino cherry (garnish) garnish
Pairs With
Pair with Italian antipasti platters featuring prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and bruschetta; the bright citrus and aperitif qualities complement salty, briny flavors perfectly.
Instructions
Fill a highball glass with ice cubes
Pour the fresh orange juice and lemon juice over the ice
Add the Aperol slowly so it begins to layer through the orange juice
Top gently with Prosecco
Stir very lightly — just once or twice — to create a gradient sunset effect
Garnish with an orange wheel and a maraschino cherry
Tips
Fresh-squeezed orange juice is essential for the best flavor and natural color gradation Pour the Aperol slowly over the back of a bar spoon to create the most dramatic layered sunset effect For a non-alcoholic version, replace the Prosecco with sparkling water and use Lyre's Italian Spritz in place of Aperol
